Peter's illustrated talk on fungi will focus on some of the species frequently found growing on the Quantocks, explain their biology, mention which make good eating and which to avoid

 Flora and Fauna GETTING TO KNOW SPIDERS, ESPECIALLY IN SOMERSET by Francis Farr-Cox
Spiders are not good at public relations so Francis Farr-Cox will show us what fascinating animals they are. There are more different types in Somerset and Britain than most people imagine. There are some that make webs and many that don't, colourful ones, bizarre ones and even ones that care for their young. If you are afraid of spiders Francis will hopefully reassure you so in future you will just be amazed!

Dr Andy King explores the geology of Watchet's coast and explains the processes that lead to coastal erosion in this part of west Somerset. By drawing on historic and present data, and future anticipated climate change effects, Andy's challenging presentation also asks what is sustainable in terms of coastal development and protection?
